On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, Council unanimously voted to go into executive session to discuss personnel as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. The meeting was adjourned. COUNCIL CHAMBER Clerk President February 10, 1984 Council met in special session on this date with the.following members present: Mr. Buck, Mrs.'.Gleason, Dr. Gunter. Absent: Mr.: Conover and Dr. Hall. The City Attorney stated that because of a clerical error the mlnut'es of December 20, 198-2 did not show the vote taken on the second reading of the ordinance entitled 'rAN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER lO, AS AMENDED OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY ADDING AN ARTICLE NUMBERED XV, CONTAINING SECTIONS NUMBERED 10-90 THROUGH 10-103, IN ORDER TO IMPOSE A TAX ON MEALS SERVED IN RESTAURANTS OR BY CATERERS." Mr. Wiley noted that the error.was not made by the current cl'erk. The portion of the tape 'recording of the December 20, 1982 meeting that dealt with the meals tax ordinance was played-for Council to verify that the ordinance had indeed been considered and adopted at that meeting. On'motion by Mrs.. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the minutes of the meeting of December 20, 1982 were amended to include the paragraph set forth below, by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Conover and Dr. Hall. After a brief discussion, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 10, AS AMENDED OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY ADDING AN ARTICLE NUMBERED XV, CONTAINING SECTIONS NUMBERED 10-90 THROUGH 10-103, IN ORDER TO IMPOSE A TAX ON MEALS SERVED IN RESTAURANTS OR BY CATERERS" which was offered at the meeting of December 6, 1982, was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. Abstaining: Mr. Conover. The meeting was adjourned.
