MINUTES PUBLIC APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS The City heating assistance program was discussed. Mrs. Gleason suggested that requirements for participation in the program should be reassessed as there was money remaining from the past year. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Buck, Council voted to. meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. COUNCIL CHAMBERS Monday, June 18, 1984 Council met in regular session this date with the following members present: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. On motion by .Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, Council unanimously approved the minutes of June 4th as corrected. On motion by Mr.s. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council unanimously approved the minutes of June 6th. There were no matters by the public. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, Gail S. Papovich was unanimously appointed serve a four year term on the Housing Board of Adjustment and Appeals. This term shall begin July 1, 1984 and expire June 30, 1988. On motion by Dr. Gunter, Douglas Gilpin was unanimously appointed (as the Board of Architectural Review representative) and Frances Walton unanimously reappointed (as resident of Architectural Design Control District) to four year terms on. the Historic Landmarks Commission. These terms shall begin June 16, 1984 and expire June 1S, 1988. On motion by Dr. Hall, Stanley Epstein was unanimously reappointed to a three year term on the Thomas Jefferson Visitors Bureau Board. This term shall be effective from May 1, 1984 and expire April 30, 1984. On motion by Dr. Gunter, Elizabeth Woodard was unanimously reappointed to a four year term on the Piedmont Virginia Community College Board. This term shall begin July 1, 1984 and expire June 30, 1988. On motion by Mr. Conover, Knight Aldrich was appointed and Ron Tweel reappointed to four year terms on the Social Services Advisory Board. These terms shall begin July 1, 1984 and expire June 30, 1988.
