Absent: Dr. Hall. <br /> <br />Mr. Mark KreBs, Vice-Chairman of the School Board, presented <br /> <br />Council with the document on auditorium use. <br /> <br />Mrs. Gleason recommended that attention bet given to those groups <br /> <br />which may overlap in educational and non-profit purposes. <br /> <br />Mr. Krebs stated that the School Board had approved a feasibility <br /> <br />study to look at consolidation of school administration staff and at <br /> <br />long-range building needs. Mr. Krebs requested Council's comments <br />on housing central administration in the Jefferson School property on <br /> <br />4th Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Buck recommended that City and School needs be studied <br /> <br />together because ~f the close proximity of the Jefferson School property <br />to the public works building on 4th Street and because the City is also <br /> <br />experiencing the need for additional space. Mr. Buck suggested that a <br />staff committee prepare a space needs study and report back in four to <br /> <br />six months. <br /> <br /> Dr. Joseph M{ <br />central school ad~ <br />schools should be <br /> <br /> Mrs. Virgini <br />alternative educa <br /> <br />oney, School Board member, stated that he felt <br />.inistration should be 'located downtown and that the <br />given priority for use of the Jefferson School property. <br /> <br /> Schatz, School Board member, stated that she felt <br /> <br />ion and adult education should also be located downtown. <br /> <br />Mr. Buck recommended that one Council member and School Board member <br /> <br />be on the committee and asked Mr. Hendrix, City Manager, and Dr. Vincent <br /> ! <br />Cibbarelli, SchOoI Superintendent, to assemble the appropriate staff <br />for the study. M~.b Buck also requested that the project be studied in <br /> <br />the context of all upcoming school capital projects. <br /> Mr. Buck rec;mmende'd that an effort be made to advertise the <br /> <br />availability of the audiotirum to allow for equal opportunity for its use. <br /> <br /> <br />
