Mr. Kessler pointed out that he did not want to
leave Council with the impression that this was a situation with any
quick and simple solution.

A brief discussion then followed as to merits of the funding

level of the various remedial programs offered in the school system.

The Mayor thanked the members of the school board and others
present at the hearing and explained there would be no decisions made
until further study by Council and if any Councillors had additional
questions they could contact Pr.
