3O2 <br /> <br />AppropriatiOn re: <br />$9,500 Sculpture <br />for Juvenile Court <br />Building (2nd ~ <br />reading) <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$39,214 Bicycle <br />grant <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />Adjustment of <br />CDBG accounts <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$25,000 0utreach <br />Services <br /> <br /> The appropriation of $9,500 for a sculpture for the Juvenile <br />and Domestic Relations Court building which was offered at the <br />meeting of Council on July 21 was adopted by the following vote~ <br />Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover~ Ms. Gleason, Dr. Hall. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> On motion hy Mr. Albro, seconded by Dr. Hall, the following <br />appropriation was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br /> <br />for consideration: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Cityhas been advised by the Virginia Department <br />of Highw~ays and Transportation that the Federal Highway'Administra- <br />tion has tentatively approved federal funding of a bicycle safety <br />grant to assist in the removal of certain hazards to bicycle <br />travel and the Ce~eIopment of a program to educate motorists, <br />bicyclists and pedestrians about bicycle safety; and <br /> ~WHEREAS this Council desires formally to request federal <br />participation in auch~grant program, and to reallocate certain <br />local funds previously appropriated for bicycle trail construction <br />for the local ah,are. of such grant; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> (1) Tkat tke Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation <br /> and Federal Highway~Administration are hereby formally re- <br /> quested to approve'federal funding of the bicycle safety <br /> grant in the '~mount of'$10~000.00, or 25.5% of a totgl project <br /> budget 6f $39,214.00; <br /> <br /> (2) That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed <br /> to execute all necessary grant appliCations, agreements, <br /> assurances and other documents required in connection with <br /> such grant; <br /> <br />(13) That the sum:of $29,214.00 previously appropriated to <br />expenditure account 05-00590 in the Capital Projects Fund <br />is hereby transferred and reappropraited to the Grants Fund <br />to serve as the local, share of such bicycle safety grant; <br /> <br />(4) That the entire sum of $39,214.00 is. hereby appropriated <br />in the Grants' Fund, from the two foregoing revenue sources in <br />the respective amounts indicated to the expenditure accounts <br />set forth: <br /> <br /> Federal Local <br />Account P~rPose Funds Funds Total <br /> <br />11-21070 Bicycle SafetY Program $ 2,550 $77,450 $10,000 <br />11-21080 Bicycle Hazard Removal 7,450 21,764 29,214 <br /> $10,000 $29,214 $39,214 <br /> <br /> Such appropriation is conditioned upon final approval of the <br />grant bu federal and State authorities as requested in (1) above. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Conover, an appro- <br />Priation resolution for the purpose of adjusting the five year <br />Community Development Block Grant accounts was offered and carried <br /> <br />over to the next meeting for~ consideration. <br /> <br /> On motion hy Mr, Albro, seconded by Ms. Gleason, the following <br /> <br />appropriation was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br /> <br />for consideration: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Outreach Counseling Services, Inc., has been awarded <br />a grant ~f $25,000~from the ~Virginia Division of Justice and Crime <br />PreVention for counseling services to aid in the prevention, treatment <br />and control of juvenile deIinquency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it is necessary for the City of Charlottesville to <br />appropriat~6the entire sum of $25,000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the local share of the grant is $694.50; now, therefore, <br />be it <br /> <br /> <br />
