Buck (signed) <br /> President <br /> <br />Special session <br /> <br />Continuation of <br />public hearing <br />on proposed budget, <br />tax increase <br /> <br />Worksession on <br />proposed budget and <br />tax increase <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBERS TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 1981 <br />Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Albro, Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, <br />Ms. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Absent: None, <br /> <br /> Council continued the public hearing on the proposed FY <br /> 1981-82 budget and tax increase, <br /> <br /> Ms. Sue Lewis of 1615B Amherst Street spoke in favor of <br /> <br />a volunteer coordinator for the City~, saying that in these <br />economically hard times when city budgets must be trimmed, <br />the fole of volunteers will become even more crucial and someone <br />is needed to coordinate them. Although she has no.~ children <br />in the school system., she spoke in favor of the School Board's <br />request for funding~ saying that a quality educational system <br />is often what attracts potential residents to the City <br /> <br /> There being no other speakers, Mayor Buck closed the <br />public hearing and Council and staff moved to the basemenn <br />conference room for a worksession, <br /> <br /> Council met in a worksession to consider the proposed <br />budget ~nd~Ttax increase and make final changes. <br /> <br /> <br />
