O'Brien <br /> <br />TAKE NOTICE <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Council will be held Tonight at <br /> <br />Buford School the 24th inst. at 7:30 p.m. O'clock. <br /> <br />An ordinance to amend and reordain the ordinance adopted <br />October 7, 1977 to reduce water consumption by prohibiting <br />excessive use of water by providing a penalty for <br />violations. O'Brien (signed) <br /> President <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Gatewood andMrs. O'Brien. Absent: ~None. <br /> <br /> The proposed amendment to the October 7, 1977 ordinance <br />curtailing the use of water, which would exempt commercial <br />car wash facilities, was again discussed. A staff report <br />was presented recommending: 1. That car washes be allowed <br />to continue operating; 2. That car washes be required to <br />operate on monthly volume of not more than 70% of the <br />consumption recorded for the corresponding month last year <br />for their operation; and 3. That service to car washes be <br />terminated when water consumption exceeds the predetermined <br />ration for that month. A motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by <br />Mr. Barbour that the ordinance be further amended to reflect <br />the policies recommended by the staff report, was unanimously <br />adopted and the ordinance as amended, was adopted on second <br />reading by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, <br />Mr. Fife, Mr.Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Action on the appeal from Albemarle Brick Cleaning Company <br />was deferred until Mr. Coleman appears before Council to explain <br />his operation. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife that Council <br />meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted by <br />Section 2.1-344(a)(al), Section 2.1-344(a)(2) and Section <br />2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act was <br />adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br /> <br /> Noes: <br /> <br />Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />~resident <br /> <br /> <br />
