Rush, Jr. (signed) <br /> Clerk <br /> <br />Nancy K. 0'Brien (signed) <br /> President <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date with <br />the following members present: Mr. BarboUr, Mr· Brunton, <br />Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour that <br />the Council support a feasibility study for a Health <br />Maintenance Organization Grant as proposed by Mr. James <br />Murray and presented at the Council meeting on May 15, <br />1978, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The City Manager reported that space has been found <br />~o relocate the programs now in Jefferson School and that <br />the Traffic Engineering Building would not be needed for <br />these programs and recommended that the building be <br />demolished. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. <br />Fife the City Manager's recommendation, was unanimously <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Page from the Virginia Department of Highways <br />and Transportation addressed the Counoil and presented <br />and discussed preliminary plans for the extension of <br />Ridge-McIntire Road to the nortern city limits. He stated <br />that the discussions thus far were very preliminary and <br />no firm decisions have been made. He stated that the <br /> <br /> <br />
