Ayes: Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> Noes: Mr. Barbour. Mr. Fife, Abstained. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FURTHER TO AMEND THE <br />ORDINANCE ADOPTED MARCH 16, 1976 AND AMENDED JANUARY 18, 1978, <br />WHICH GRANTED A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT ZONING CLASSIFICATION <br />FOR THE'PROPERTY KNOWN AS WILLOUGHBY," which was offered at <br />the meeting of the Council on June 19, 1978, was adopted by the <br />following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lloyd Smith, representing Station WVIR-TV and Mr. Harold <br />Wright, Station Manager of WVIR-TV addressed the Council in <br />protest of the resolution which Council adopted June 19th <br />requesting the F.C.C. to deny the request for reconsideration <br />with respect to Netword P~ogram Exclusivity protection by <br />Cable Television Stations. They stated that the ruling which <br />the F.C.C. has been ask to reconsider could have a great <br />economic impact on their station locally. Mr. Wright stated <br />that his station could lose a third of its viewers and there- <br />fore lose a third of its revenues. A work session on this <br />matter was set for July 6th at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton that unanimous <br />consent be given to the consideration of a matter which is not <br />on the agenda, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The following report was presented: <br /> <br /> June 23, 1978 <br /> <br />Members of City Council <br />Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Dear Councillors: <br /> <br /> We have examined the Treasurer's List of 1976 Delinquent <br />and Erroneous Taxes, dated October 25, 1977 in the amounts <br />of $286,806.59 for 1976 and $27,184.64 (erroneous) for 1976. <br /> <br /> The erroneous taxes reflect the assessments abated by the <br />Board of Equalization for Real Estate and on property acquired <br />by Governmental Agencies on which no taxes are assessable and <br />duplicate assessments on Personal Property. <br /> <br /> We recommend that the lists be accepted, and that the <br />erroneous taxes be charged off and that the City Treasurer be <br />instructed to continue to collect the delinquent taxes. <br /> <br />397 <br /> <br /> <br />
