39'9, Election of Mayor: Laurence A. Brunton required oath on 'of June, 1978. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, Mr. Laurence A. Brunton was elected President of the Council by the following recorded vote. For Mr. Brunton: Mr. Albro, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'~Brien. (Mr. Brunton, Abstained) Election of Vice-Mayor: Mr. Edwin E. Gatewood Appointment re: Cole Hendrix to District Home Board Appointments re: Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission On motion by Mr. Buck, Mrs. O'Brien was nominated for Vice,President of the Council. on>motion by Mr. Albro, Mr. Gatewood was nominated for Vice'President of the Council. The votes was as follows: For Mrs. O'Brien. Mr. Buck. For Mr. Gatewood: Mr. Albro and Mr. B~unton. (Mrs. O'Brien, abstained and Mr. Gatewood, abstained) On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. Hendrix was appointed as the City's representative to the District Home Board, by unanimous vote. On motion by Mr. Brunton, Mr. Albro and Mr. Buck, on motion by Mr. Buck, Mr. David Wiencek and on motion by Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. F~ancis Fife were appointed to the Region X Planning District Commission, by unanimous vote. On motion the meeting adjourned. Regular Meeting Executive Session Executive Session dispensed with Approval of minutes Appointmenns re: TJPDC Criminal Justice Advisory Council Appointment re: Council's Comm. on Employment of the Handicapped COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, JULY 10, 1978 The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunnon, Mr.' Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. A motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro that Council meet in executive session to discuas a matter exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. The executive session wad dispensed with and open session resumed at 7:30 P.M. The minutes of the meetings of June 19th, June 26th, and July 1st Were approved as presented. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, Mr. Dek Bowen and Mr. Gene Rhodenizer were reappointed to the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission -Criminal Justice Advisory Council. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr.Albro, Mr. William Tilman was appointed to the Council's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.
