VOGT EXPRESSED HIS GRATITUDE TO THE COUNCILMEN FOR THEIR CONFIDENCE IN ELECTING <br />HIM MAYOR AND PAID TRIBUTE TO THE THREE RETIRING COUNCILMEN, HE ALSO WELCOMED THE NEWLY <br />ELECTED MEMBERS OF COUNCIL~ AND OUTLINED SOME OF THE NEEDS AND CHALLENGES CONFRONtiNG <br />THE CITY IN THE IMMEDIATE AND LONG RANGE FUTURE, <br /> <br /> MRS, ANNE HAMM ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND INQUIRED WHY POLICE OFFICERS ARE NOT ALLOWED <br />TO SIGN PETITIONS. MR, BOWEN ADVISED MRS, HAMM THAT THE CITY CODE PROHIBITS POLICEMEN <br />FROM TAKING PART IN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES~ AND THAT-THE POLICEMEN AND THE ADMINISTRATION <br />AGREE THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SIGN PETITIONS, <br /> <br /> A REQUEST FOR REZON1NG AT ~005 JEFFERSON PARK AVENUE WAS REFERRED TO THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION FOR RECOMMENDATION, <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM FOXBROOK CORPORATION REQUESTING THAT GROVE ROAD <br />FROM FOXBROOK LANE TO MELBOURNE ROAD BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM FOR <br />MAINTENANCE.
