ABSENT: NONE. <br /> <br /> A PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD ON THIS DATE TO CONSIDER A FUNCTIONAL ELEMENT OF THE <br />COHPREHENSIVE PLAN KNOWN AS THE MAJOR THOROUGHFARES PLAN PERTAINING TO FUTURE PROPOSED <br />MAJOR THOROUGHFARES. <br /> <br /> THE CITY MANAGER REVIEWED THE 1967 VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT Of HIGHWAYS PLAN, WHICH IS THE <br />PRESENT MASTER THOROUGHFARES PLAN, AND PRESENTED A REVISED PLAN PROPOSED BY THE PLANNING <br />DEPARTMENT. HE STATED THAT THE COUNCIL HAS FOUR ALTERNATIVES NAMELY: <br /> <br />(1) ADOPT THE REVISED PLAN THEREBY REPLACING THE 1967 STATE PLAN. <br />(2) ADOPT AN AMENDED REVISED PLAN. <br />(S) TAKE NO ACTION~ THEREBY ALLOWING THE 1967 PLAN TO REMAIN IN EFFECT, OR <br />(4) USE THE REVISED PLAN AS.
