BARBOUR, MR. FIFE, MR. GILLIAM, ~RS. RINEHART AND MR. VAN YAHRES. ABSENT: NONE. <br /> OR. CARL W. HALEY, MINISTER OF THE FIRST UNITED HETHODIST CHURCH GAVE THE <br /> <br />INVOCAT ION. <br /> THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS OF DECEMBER 4~ 1@7~ AND DECEMBER 11, 1972 WERE APPROVED <br /> <br />AS PRESENTED. <br /> A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING, WITH THE PLANNING COMMISSION, WAS HELD ON THIS DATE ON <br />A REQUEST FOR REZONING AT JEFFERSON PARK AVENUE, WASHINGTON AVENUE AND OBSERVATORY <br />AVENUE. MR. STEVEN HELVIN AND MR. ROBERT ~AKELSKI ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL ON BEHALF OF <br />THE PETITIONER. MR. FRED LANDESS REPRESENTING THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS~ AND THREE <br />PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE VlCINITY~ ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL IN OPPOSITION TO THE REQUEST. <br /> A PUBLIC HEARING WAS ALSO HELD ON A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE <br /> WHICH WOULD BRING THE LOT AREA REQUIREMENTS INTO CONFORMITY WITH THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br /> NO ONE APPEARED FOR OR AGAINST THE PROPOSED CHANGE. <br /> A PUBLIC HEARING WAS ALSO HELD ON A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 14(A) OF THE <br /> CITY CHARTER WHICH WOULD ELIMINATE THE PROVISION FOR A REFERENDUM ON PUBLIC HOUSING <br /> PROJECTS. SEVERAL PEOPLE ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL BOTH IN FAVOR AND I~?,;OPPOSITION TO THE <br /> CHANGE. ON MOTION BY HR. VAN YAHRES~ SECONDED BY MR. BARBOUR IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY <br /> RESOLVED THAT THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 14(A) Of THE CITY CHARTER, BE AND THE <br /> SAME IS HEREBY APPROVED AND IT WAS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, DELEGATE THOMAS J. HICHIE~ JR., <br /> BE REQUESTED TO PRESENT SUCH CHARTER AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR ENACTMENT~ <br /> AND THAT SENATOR J- HARRY HICHAEL~ ~R. AND DELEGATE DANIEL G. VAN CLIEF.
