VAN YAHRES) THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS <br />UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ THE 1973 VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL CONSIDER A REQUEST FOR <br />APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THREE BICENTENNIAL INFORMATION CENTERS; <br />AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ THESE THREE CENTERS WILL PLAY A MAJOR PART IN THE VIRGINIA <br />OBSERVANCE OF THE 200TH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE~ AS PLANNED BY THE <br />VIRGINIA INDEPENDENCE BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION; AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ THE CHARLOTTESVILLE AND ALBEMARLE COUNTY LOCALITY IS THE SITE <br />FOR ONE OF THESE THREE CENTERS~ AS PLANNED BY THE ALBEMARLE-CHARLOTTESVILLE AMERICAN <br />INDEPENDENCE BICENTENNIAL COHHISSION; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br />REQUESTS THE 1973 VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO APPROVE THE REQUEST FOR FUNDING <br />FOR THE THREE BICENTENNIAL INFORMATION CENT~RS~ WITH SPECIFIC CONSIDERATION FOR <br />THE CENTER IN CHARLOTTESVILLE AND ALBEMARLE COUNTY; AND <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION BE SPREAD IN THE <br />MINUTES OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 16~ 1973~ WITH <br />COPIES SENT TO STATE SENATOR J.
