MCCAULEY AND JEFFERSON MEDICAL BUILDING, INC. ~ AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, IT APPEarS TO COUNCIL THAT NOTICES REQUIRED BY ~15.1-364 <br />OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950), AS AMENDED, HAVE BEEN DULY POSTEDI <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT MESSRS. d. P. BORDEN, LEE GREAVER AND MASON S. BYRD <br />BE AND THE SAME ARE HEREBY APPOINTED AS VIEWERS, TO VIEW SUCH ALLEY AND <br />REPORT IN WRITING TO COUNCIL WHAT INCONVENIENCE, IF ANY WOULD RESULT FROM <br />THIE VACATION THEREOF. RINEHART, SECONDED BY MR. VAN YAHRES, SECONDED BY MRS. RINEHART AND CARRIED OVER <br />TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION <br />I9-57 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, ENTITLED "PETIT <br />LARCENY," WAS OFFERED BY MR. VAN YAHRES, SECONDED BY MR. GILLIAM AND <br />CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORBAIN SECTION 2-150 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, AS AMENDED RELATING TO <br />PENALTIES FOR FAILURE TO FILE RETURNS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY," WAS OFFERED BY <br />MRS. RINEHART, SECONDED BY MR. GILLIAM AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING <br />FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> THE RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $4,150 FOR PART-TIME STAFF FOR JUDGE COLES' <br />OFFICE WHICH WAS OFFERED AT THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 4, 1973 <br />WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE. AYES: MR. FIFE, MR. GILLIAM, <br />MRS. RINEHART AND MR. VAN YAHRES. NOES: NONE. MR. BARBOUR, ABSENT AT <br />THIS TIME. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. VAN YAHRES, SECONDED BY MRS. RINEHART THE FOLLOWING <br />RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE OWNERS DF THE YELLOW TRANSIT COMPANY FOR <br />THEIR EFFORTS TO INCREASE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF <br />SCHOOL CHILDREN. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, THE SCHEDULE OF SCHOOL BUSES AS OF RECENT HAS BEEN FOR <br />THE CONCERN AND CONSIDERATION OF THE SCHOOL CHILDREN, AND; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, DESPITE SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL AND PRACTICAL OBSTACLES THE <br />OWNERS OF THE YELLOW TRANSIT COMPANY HAVE VOLUNTAIRLy AGREED TO PROVIDE'THE <br />NECESSARY SIGNALS AND MARKINGS FOR THEIR SCHOOL TYPE BUSES USED TO TRANSPORT <br />STUDENTS TO AND FROM THE CHARLOTTESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT MR. AND MRS. d. T. GRAVES THE OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF THE <br />YELLOW TRANSIT COMPANY BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR PUBLIC SPIRITED RESPONSE AND <br />VOLUNTARY EFFORTS TO INCREASE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR CHILDREN TRAVELING TO <br />SCHOOL ON THEIR BUSES. " <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MRS. RINEHART, SECONDED BY MR. GILLIAM THE COUNCIL VOTED <br />TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS PERSONNEL, LAND ACQUISITION AND <br />POSSIBLE LITIGATION, BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE. AYES: MR. FIFE, <br /> <br />MR. GILLIAM, MRS. RINEHART AND MR. VAN YAHRES. NOES: NONE. MR.
