RENNOLDS <br />114 - 4TH STREET, So E. <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE~ VIRGINIA <br /> <br />DEAR MAYOR RENNOLDS: <br /> <br />THE FOLLOWING ACTION WAS TAKEN AT THE NOVEMBER 23 MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTES- <br />VILLE-ALBEMARLE MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION: <br /> <br />~BE IT MOVED THAT THE SECRETARY BE INSTRUCTED TO WRITE THE <br />MAYOR OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE <br />MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION FINDS ITSELF WITH A MAJOR DIVISION <br />OF OPINION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE <br />CLERGYMEN TO SAY A PRAYER OF INVOCATION AT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS AND THAT THE ASSOCIATION IS UNABLE TO COME TO A <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER' AND THIS WITH REGRETS. BE IT <br />FURTHER MOVED THAT THE ASSOCIATION EXPRESS ITS CONCERN AND <br />BEST W~SHES TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR ITS LABORS IN BEHALF OF <br />ALL THE CITIZENS OF CHARLOTTESVILLE. <br /> <br />tt MAY WELL BE THAT QUESTIONS WILL ARISE IN YOUR THINKING CONCERNING THE ABOVE <br />ACTION. ~F YOU FEEL THAT A MORE THOROUGH INTERPRETATION OF THIS MOTION WOULD <br />BE HELPFUL~ JAMES PAYNE AND ! BRANHAM BE ALLOWED TO REMOVE A TRAILER AT <br /> <br />222 PALATINE AVENUE~ WHICH IS A NON-CONFORMING USE~ AND REPLACE IT WITH A <br />NEWER SECOND-HAND MODEL WAS PRESENTED. VOGT WERE <br />REQUESTED TO CONFER WITH DR. ELLIS ON THIS MATTER. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT REQUESTING <br />THAT THE CITY COMMIT ITSELF TO IMPROVING ROUTE 631 ALONG 5TH STREET AND/OR RIDGE <br />STREET FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS TO CHERRY AVENUE TO A FOUR LANE FACILITY <br />WITHIN FIVE YEARS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE !-64 INTERCHANGE. ON MOTION BY <br /> <br />MOUNT, SECONDED BY MR. JOHNSONp THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS THE C~TY MANAGER HAS BEEN ADVISED BY THE STATE URBAN ENGINEER <br />THAT THE BUREAU Of PUBLIC ROADS HAS GIVEN APPROVAL TO AN INTERCHANGE ON ROUTE 1-64 <br />AND STATE ROUTE 631 dUST SOUTH OF THE CITY LIMITS SUBJECT TO A COMMITMENT FROM <br />THE CItY THAT ROUTE 63t ALONG 5TH AND/OR RIDGE STREETS FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE <br /> <br /> <br />
