WHICH THESE APPURTENANCES ARE LOCATED, FOR
THE SUM OF ~70,000.00 PLUS THE INSTALLATION OF A SEWER LINE FROM RICKEY ROAD TO
SERVE LOTS 9 THROUGH 15 IN BLOCK B.
THIS COMPANY HAS APPROXIMATELY 140 CUSTOMERS AND THE YEARLY GROSS REVENUE IS
ESTIMATED AT ABOUT ~t5)000.00 FROM~ A RATE THAT IS dUST ABOUT THE SAME AS THE CITYtS
"OUTSIDE CITY" RATE. THERE ARE 14 ADDITIONAL LOTS TO BE SERVED IN THE SUBDIVISION.
WE ESTIMATE THAT IN ADDITION TO THE PRICE OF ~70~O00.00 THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING
THE SANITARY SEWER LINE WOULD AMOUNT TO ABOUT ~4,000.00, AND OTHER COSTS TO CONNECT
THE KNOLLWOOD SYSTEM TO THE CITY'S, SYSTEM WOULD AMOUNT TO ABOUT ~6~000.00~ MAKING A
TOTAL ESTIMATED COST TO THE CITY OF APPROXIMATELY ~80~000.00.
IN VIEW OF THE FACT THAT THIS~ SYSTEM SERVES AN AREA WHICH ADdOINS THE CITY AND
WHICH IS MOST LIKELY TO BE ANNEXED BY THE CITY IN THE NEAR FUTURE (AT WHICH TIME THE
CITY WOULD BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE. THE SYSTEM), AND IN VIEW OF THE FACT THAT THE CITY
CAN AT THIS TIME VERY EASILY CONNE,CT TO THE SYSTEM AND PROVIDE CITY WATER FOR DOMESTIC
USE AND FOR IMPROVED FIRE PROTECTION, AND WILl RECEIVE REVENUES SUFFICIENT TO OFFSET
THE PURCHASE PRICE DURING THE NEX~ TEN YEARS AFTER DEDUCTING OPERATING COSTS~ I
RESPECTFULLY RECOMMEND THAT THE OFFER BE ACCEPTED AND THAT ~15,000.00 OF THE PURCHASE
PRICE BE PAID ON AUGUST 30, 1967 AND THAT THE BALANCE OF ~55~000.00 BE PAID ON SEPTEMBER
30, 1967, AT WHICH TI~E THE CITY WOULD ACCEPT AND OPERATE THE SYSTEM.

RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED,

JEB;RB CITY MANAGER
ENC.
COPY OF OFFER TO SELL.

ON MOTION BY MR.
