HYDRAULIC ROAD <br />A PETITION FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE NORTH SLOE OF ROBERTSON AVENUE <br />REQUESTING THAT SIDEWALKS BE INSTALLED ON THEIR SIDE OF THE STREET AS WAS ORIGINALLY <br />PLANNED UNDER THE ~~SIDEWALKS FOR SCHOOLS PROJECT`, WAS PRESENTED. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION, <br />PETITION PRESENTED <br />RE: SIDEWALKS ON THE CLERK WAS INSTRUCTED TO ADVISE THE PETITIONERS THAT THE COUNCIL HAD DECIDED TO <br />ROBERTSON AVE. AFTER <br />ABANDON THIS PORTION OF THE PROJECT, SINCE RECONSIDERATION, THEY HAD DECIDED THAT IT <br />WAS NOT NECESSARY AT THIS TIME. <br />A COMMUNICATION FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS ON ETON ROAD, EXTENDED, REQUESTING THAT <br />THE CITY ACCEPT THIS STREET INTO THEIR STREET SYSTEM FOR MAINTENANCE WAS PRESENTED. THE <br />PETITION STATED THAT THEY WERE WILLING TO PAY $340.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION COST OF <br />MATTER RE: ETON ROAD, <br />EXTENDED - ACCEPTANCE BUILDING THIS STREET, WOULD DEDICATE THIS STREET FOR PUBLIC USE, AND WOULD EXECUTE <br />INTO CITY STREET SYSTEM <br />WATER DAMAGE RELEASES. A MOTION BY MR. DAVIS, SECONDED BY MR. HILL THAT THE ABOVE <br />STREET BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM PROVIDED, OF COURSE, THAT THE PROPERTY <br />OWNERS COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS IN REGARD TO OEDICATION~ RELEASES AND PAYMENT FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF STREET, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. HILL, SECONDED BY MR. MICHIE, THE MAYOR WAS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE <br />MAYOR AUTHORIZED TO <br />EXECUTE HOSPITAL A CONTRACT WITH THE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF VIRGINIA FOR INDIGENT HOSPITALIZATION. <br />CONTRACT <br />ON MOTION BY MR. WATER STREET - 2 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR (NOW 2 HR. LIMIT FOR 5¢ PER HOUR) <br />2. MAIN STREET - 1 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR OR 1¢ FOR 12 MINUTES (NOW SAME). <br />3. MARKET STREET - 2 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR (NOW 2 HR. LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR). <br />4. JEFFERSON STREET - 2 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR (Now 2 HR. LIMIT FOR 5¢). <br />5. SIDE STREETS SOUTH OF WATER STREET - 2 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR (Now 2 HOUR <br />LIMIT FOR 5¢). <br />6. SIDE STREETS BETWEEN WATER & MARKET STREETS - 1 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR <br />(NOW 2 HOUR LIMIT FOR 5¢). <br />7. SIDE STREETS BETWEEN MARKET & JEFFERSON STREETS - 2 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR <br />(NOW 2 HOUR LIMIT FOR 5¢). <br />8. SIDE STREETS BETWEEN JEFFERSON & HIGH STREETS - INSTALL METERS - 5¢ PER HOUR <br />(NOW MOSTLY UNLIMITED NON-METERED). <br />PARKING. <br />9. HIGH AND WATER STREETS PARKING LOTS - 3 HOUR LIMIT - 5¢ PER HOUR (Now 10 HOUR <br />LIMIT - 2 HOURS FOR 5¢). <br />lO. NO CHANGES BE MADE IN THE 7TH STREET LOT AND THE PRESTON AVENUE LOT (NOW <br />10 HOUR LIMIT - 2 HOURS FOR 5¢). <br />WE BELIEVE THAT THE ABOVE CHANGES WILL IMPROVE PARKING CONDITIONS FOR THE DOWNTOWN <br />BUSINESS AREA BY CAUSING A BETTER ~~TURN OVER~~ AND MAKING MORE SPACES AVAILABLE FOR t~SHOP- <br />PERS~~. <br />WE ALSO FEEL THAT MORE POLICE PERSONNEL SHOULD BE EMPLOYED IN ORDER TO MORE <br />ADEQUATELY CHECK FOR PARKING VIOLATION IN THE METERED AREA. <br />RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, <br />CORDON WILEY (SIGNED <br />WM.
