'~90 <br />FISCAL YEAR RECOMMENDED THAT THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE SAND BE INCREASED FROM <br />$2,750.00 TO $5,210.00. ON MOTION BY MR. MICHIE, SECONDED BY MR. HILL, THE <br />FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />APPROPRIATION RE: THAT $2,460.00 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED !N ACCORDANCE <br />MUNICIPAL BAND <br />WITH THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATION. <br />A PETITION FROM ALBEMARLE HOMES, INC. REQUESTING THAT A PORTION OF NORTH AVENUE <br />PETITION REQUESTING BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM FOR MAINTENANCE WAS REFERRED TO THE STREET <br />ACCEPTANCE OF NORTH <br />AVE. REFERRED TO $T. COMMITTEE FOR INVESTIGATION AND REPORT. <br />COMM. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. HILL, SECONDED BY MR. MICHIE, THE ORGANIZATION MEETING WAS <br />SET FOR $EPT-EMBER 4TH AT 2:00 P. M. <br />THE CITY MANAGER SUBMITTED A PLAN SHOWING THE REMOVAL OF A PART OF THE OLD GAS <br />PLANT ANO THE REBUILDING OF THE SAME, AND ESTIMATED THAT THE COST WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY <br />PLANS SUBMITTED <br />RE: BUILDING AT $30,000,00, HE EXPLAINED THAT THE BUILDING WOULD BE BRICK ON CINDER BLOCK, AND <br />GAS PLANT <br />RECOMMENDED THAT THIS WORK BE DONE SINCE THE OLD BUILDING I5 CONSaDERED BY THE <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR TO BE UNSAFE. HE ALSO SUBMITTED AN ALTERNATE PLAN WHICH WOULD <br />REMOVE THE PART OF THE BUILDING DAMAGED BY THE RECENT FIRE, AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br />THE REST ROOMS {N THE OLD GAS MAKING MACHINE ROOM. HE ESTIMATED THE COST OF THIS TO <br />BE APPROXIMATELY $8,000.00, BUT RECOMMENDED THAT THE COMPLETE JOB SE DONE. A MOTION <br />BY MR. FDRBES, SECONDED BY MR. MICHIE THAT THE CITY MANAGERS RECOMMENDATION BE <br />APPROVED, AND THAT $20,000.00 OR AS MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY BE APPROPRIATED <br />TO BE USED WITH THE $10,000.00 INSURANCE MONEY TO CONSTRUCT THIS BUILDING AND REPAIRS. <br />THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR <br />CONSIDERATION: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />REDLUTIDN APPRDP• CARRIED THAT $20,000.00 OR AS MC1CH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY BE AND THE <br />OVER RE: BUILDING AT <br />GAS PLANT SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED TO CARRY OUT THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATION. <br />THE MAYOR ANNOUNCED THE APPOINTMENT OF THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE <br />NEEDS OF A NEW MUNICIPAL BUILDING: <br />COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO S.
