3~ <br />THE CITY MANAGER PRESENTED A LETTER FROM MR. GEORGE GILMER, ATTORNEY FOR <br />MR. PAUL J. BLOCK, REQUESTING THAT THE STREET LINE FOR THE ~~MAGON~~ PROPERTY, <br />LOCATED ON MARKET STREET, BETWEEN SEVENTH AND EIGHTH STREETS, BE ESTABLISHED <br />AS SHOWN ON THE PLAT PREPARED BY MR. W. S. ROUDABUSH, JR., GATED OCTOBER 28, 1958. <br />MR, BOWEN STATED THAT THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT HAD INVESTIGATED THE STREET LINE <br />FOR THIS PROPERTY, AND FOUND THAT THE LINE WAS SEVERAL FEET BEHIND THE BACK OF THE <br />MATTER RE: STREET LINE <br />MACON PROPERTY - MARKET ST. SIDEWALK. HE STATED THAT HE HAD SUGGESTED TO MR. GILMER THAT HE WOULD BE WILLING <br />BETWEEN 7TH 8c 8TH STS. <br />TO RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL THAT THE STREET LINE BE ESTABLISHED SIX (6) FEET NORTH <br />OF THE BACK OF THE EXISTING SIDEWALK WITH THE CORNERS AT BOTH SEVENTH AND EIGHTH <br />STREETS BEING ROUNDED, AND THAT MR. GILMER HAD SUBSEQUENTLY ADVISED HIM THAT HIS <br />CLIENT WAS NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT THIS COMPROMISE LINE. MR. GILMER WAS PRESENT <br />AND STATED THAT HIS CLIENT WAS NOT WILLING TO HAVE THE LINE ESTABLISHED AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY MANAGER AND HE REQUESTED THAT THE STREET LINE ON MARKET <br />STREET BE ESTABLISHED AT THE HACK EDGE OF THE SIDEWALK. ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER, <br />SECONDED BY MR. COLEMAN, THIS MATTER WAS REFERRED 70 THE CITY ATTORNEY FOR STUDY <br />ANO RECOMMENDATION. <br />A COMMUNICATION FROM MR. PAUL J. BLOCK REQUESTING PERMISSION TO OPERATE A <br />REQUEST RE: PERMISSION <br />TO OPERATE FILLLING STATION GASOLINE FILLING STATION AT THE CORNER OF SEVENTH AND E. MARKET STREETS WAS CARRIED <br />CDR. 7TH Sc E. MARKET STS. <br />OVER TO THE MEETING OF JANUARY 5, 1959 FOR CONSIDERATION. <br />REQUEST RE: SEC. II A COMMUNICATION FROM RAREFY C. EASTER REQUESTING THAT THE STREETS IN SECTION II <br />WOOOLAWN SUB. REFERRED <br />TO ST. COMM. OF THE WOODLAWN SUBDIVISION BE ACCEPTED INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM FOR MAINTENANCE <br />WAS REFERRED TO THE STREET COMMITTEE FOR INVESTIGATION AND REPORT. <br />THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT IF IT IS NECESSARY TO USE MECHUMS <br />MATTER RE: MECHUMS RIVER RIVER WATER NEXT SUMMER THAT THE SERVICE TO USERS ON THE RAW WATER LINE WOULD <br />WATER LINE - SERVICE TO <br />USERS HAVE TO BE CUT OFF DURING THAT TIME. MR. BOW EN STATED THAT SOME USERS ON THAT <br />LINE HAD DRILLED WELLS, BUT THE MAJORITY WERE STILL USING WATER FROM THE CITY~S <br />LINE. ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER, SECONDED BY MR. WEINBERG, THE C17Y MANAGER WAS <br />DIRECTED TO AGAIN WRITE THESE PEOPLE ANO REMIND THEM THAT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT <br />THEIR SERVICE WILL BE INTERRUPTED NEXT SUMMER FOR AS LONG AS IS NECESSARY TO <br />USE THE PUMPING STATION ON MECHUMS RIVER. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. WEINBERG, SECONDED BY MR. SCRIBNER, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION <br />WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />APPROPRIATION - <br />REFUNO TAXES THAT $115.54 BE ANO THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FOR TAXES PA10 <br />THROUGH ERROR AS FOLLOWS: <br />Gus GIANAKOS $79.38 <br />DR.CHARLES F.
