348 <br />OF WATER STREET AND THE NORTHERN MARGIN OF THE MAIN LINE TRACKS OF THE <br />CHESAPEAKE AND OH10 RAILWAY COMPANY, TOGETHER WITH WHAT WAS FORMERLY <br />SOUTH STREET IN THE TOWN OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, BEING THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF <br />SAID FORMER SOUTH STREET LYING BETWEEN THE EASTERN MARGIN OF SECOND STREET <br />AND THE MAIN LINE TRACKS OF THE CHESAPEAKE AND OHIO RAILWAY COMPANY, BE AND <br />THEY HEREBY ARE FOREVER AND PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS STREETS IN SA10 CITY AND <br />TITLE TO THE PROPERTY INCLUDED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID STREETS IS HEREBY <br />VESTED IN THE ABUTTING LANDOWNERS, ONE-HALF TO EACH. THIS RESOLUTION iS PASSED <br />~--, <br />UNDER AUTHORITY VESTED IN THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE BY <br />CHAPTER 384, $ECTION ~4, CLAUSE ~ OF THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY (1946), AS AMENDED. <br />THIS RESOLUTION IS TO BE EFFECTIVE ONLY IF THE AFOREMENTIONED <br />PROPOSED CONVEYANCE IS MADE, BUT IS TO TAKE EFFECT SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE <br />DELIVERY OF A DEED FROM THE CHESAPEAKE AND OHIO RAILWAY COMPANY TO CHARLDTTES- <br />VILLE PARKING CENTER, INC. CONVEYING SAID FREIGHT DEPOT PROPERTY AND IS TO BE <br />IN CONTINUING EFFECT FROM THAT MOMENT ON, AND <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL BE AND HE IS <br />HEREBY DIRECTED TO RECORD IN THE CLERKS OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COURT <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE A DULY ATTESTED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD STATING THAT THEY <br />WERE SUBMITTING A BILL TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />MATTER RE: SCHOOL BOARD - <br />BILL TO COMM. OF VA. RE: X133,053.35 COVERING THE CONTRACTURAI OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY SCHOOL BOARD <br />CONTRACTURAL OBLIGATIONS <br />TEACHERS - LANE & VENABLE SCHOOLS FOR SALARIES OF TEACHERS AND OTHER EMPLOYEES AT LANE AND VENABLE SCHOOLS <br />DURING THE PERIOD THESE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED BY THE GOVERNOR AS REQUIRED UNDER <br />THE STATE LAW, AND STATED THAT IT WAS NECESSARY FOR THE CITY COUNCIL TO <br />CONCUR IN THIS ACTION. ON MOTION BY N4R. WEINBERG, SECONDED BY MR. COLEMAN, <br />THE COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY CONCURRED WITH THE SCHOOL BOARDS ACTION ON THIS <br />MATTER. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM MR. LEROY A. BRUTDN REQUESTING THAT <br />REQUEST RE: CENTER AVENUE THE PORTION OF CENTER AVENUE, WHICH HE HAD DEVELOPED, BE ACCEPTED INTO THE <br />CITY STREET SYSTEM FOR MAINTENANCE. THE STREET COMMITTEE REPORTED THAT THEY <br />HAD EXAMINED THIS PORTION OF CENTER AVENUE AND RECOMMENDED THAT IT BE ACCEPTED <br />INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM. ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER, SECONDED BY MR. DAVIS, <br />THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. DAVIS, SECONDED BY MR.
