39~ <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - APRIL 4, 1960 <br />THE COUNCIL MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON THIS GATE WITH THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS <br />PRESENT: MR. COLEMAN, MR, DAVIS, MR. MICHIE, MR. SCRIBNER AND MR. WEINBERG. <br />ABSENT: NONE. <br />THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS OF MARCH 21, 1960 AND MARCH 31, 1960 WERE READ <br />AND APPROVED. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE LIBRARY BOARD REQUESTING THAT AN <br />APPROPRIATION BE MADE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW CHECK OUT <br />MATTER RE: REQUEST FROM <br />LIBRARY BOARD FOR ALTERATIONS DESK AT THE LIBRARY AND THE DEMOLITION OF THE OLD DESK. ON MOTION BY MR. DAVIS, <br />AT LIBRARY <br />SECONDED BY MR. WEINBERG, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING <br />RECORDED VOTE: AYES: MR. COLEMAN, MR. DAVIS, MR. MICHIE, MR. NOES: NONE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />APPROPRIATION - ALTERATIONS THAT $1,255.55 BE AND THE SAME I.S HEREBY APPROPRIATED FOR ALTERATIONS <br />AT THE LIBRARY <br />AT THE LIBRARY. <br />THE CITY MANAGER ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT THE RECREATION BOARD HAD <br />REQUESTED THAT A SHELTER 8E CONSTRUCTED IN WASHINGTON PARK, SIMILAR TO THE ONES <br />MATTER RE: SHELTER AT IN MEADE AVENUE AND BELMONT PARKS, TO REPLACE THE OLD BUILDING NOW BEING USED. <br />WASHINGTON PARK <br />MR. BOWEN STATED THAT THE COST OF THIS PROJECT WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $$,SOO.OO <br />AND RECOMMENDED THAT AN APPROPRIATION BE MADE TO COVER THE COST OF THIS PROJECT. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. DAVIS, SECONDED BY MR. SCRIBNER, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS <br />OFFERED AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR CONSIDERATION: <br />RESOLUTION APPROPRIATION <br />CARRIED OVER RE: SHELTER BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />AT WASHINGTON PARK <br />THAT $5,500.00 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATION. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. WEINBERG, SECONDED 8Y MR. SCRIBNER, THE FOLLOWING <br />RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />APPROPRIATION - SEWER LINE THAT $631.52 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FOR THE CITY~S <br />IN ARBOR HIIIS SNARE OF THE COST OF SEWER LINE IN ARBOR HILLS. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM R. A. SAUNDERS REQUESTING PERMISSION TO <br />EXTEND A SIX INCH WATER LINE TO HIS WAREHOUSE ON BELLEVIEW AVENUE WHICH IS OUTSIDE <br />REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF THE CITY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SPRINKLER SYSTEM. THE CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED <br />WATER LINE - R. A. SAUNDERS - <br />BELLEVIEW AVENUE WAREHOUSE THAT THIS REQUEST BE GRANTED, BUT THAT AN EIGHT INCH LINE BE INSTALLED INSTEAD OF <br />A SIX INCH UNDER THE CITY'S SUPERVISION. ON MOTION BY MR. COLEMAN, SECONDED BY <br />MR.
