2

Mr. Taliaferro said Mr. Long’s point abut U. Va. is well taken. He noted that U.
Va. does some things that other colleges do not, such as providing funds for fire and free
medical care. He said the City has discussed issues with U. Va. in the past.

Mr. O’Connell noted that most of U. Va. grounds and sports venues are in
Albemarle County, and only the hospital is in the City.

Mr. Norris agreed with the bridge comments. He said he does not think we need
to add parking spaces, and would prefer to leave it as green space.

Mr. O’Connell said he understands that property owners adjacent to the bridge
have no off-street parking and would like the additional spaces. He said another look can
be taken.

Mr. Norris agreed that we should keep homeowners informed of projects. He said
he is intrigued by Mr. Kleeman’s suggestion for more hours at Washington Park pool,
and asked for more information on the demand/usage there, does staff think more hours
are warranted, and what would the cost be.

CONSENT AGENDA

On motion by Mr. Taliaferro, seconded by Mr. Huja, the following consent
agenda items were approved by the following vote.
