APPROPRIATION: $35,000 - Grant for Drug Court (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $35,000.00, awarded as a grant to the Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney <br />Office from the U.S. Department of Justice, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account <br />11-230-032044, to assist in the planning stages for a drug court. In addition, the required <br />local match in the amount of $11,667.00 will be provided through in-kind personnel services <br />currently appropriated in the City Commonwealth's Attorney FY95-96 budget. <br /> <br />c. APPROPRIATION: $31,500 - Amphitheater Band Stage (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $31,500 is hereby appropriated from account code 26-020-122050 of the Capital <br />Fund contingency to .account code 26-181-091164 (Amphitheater Stage) as the City's share <br />of the cost of construction of the bandstage in the amphitheater at the east end of the <br />downtown mall. Said funding is appropriated pursuant to an agreement dated September 12, <br />1994, between the Charlottesville Downtown Foundation and the City, approved by City <br />Council on August 1, 1994. <br /> <br />d. APPROPRIATION: $2,229,891 - Job Training and Partnership Act - <br /> FY 96/97 (carried over) <br /> <br />e. RESOLUTION: Proclaiming Business Appreciation Week <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville, Virginia officially recognizes the important <br />contributions business and industry have brought to the community and the regional <br />economy; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these companies are a significant provider of jobs to our citizens and tax <br />revenues needed for essential services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the business community has donated significant volunteer time and <br />charitable contributions for the benefit of all residents; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, David J. Toscano, Mayor of the City of Charlottesville, on <br />behalf of the City Council of the City of Charlottesville, do hereby proclaim the week of May <br />20, 1996 as CHARLOTTESVILLE BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY APPRECIATION <br />WEEK and extend sincere appreciation for our many exemplary corporate citizens who strive <br />to build a better commonwealth and work to ensure the economic growth and stability of the <br />City of Charlottesville. <br /> <br />f. RESOLUTION: State Aid for Public Transportation Grant Application <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Charlottesville that the Transit Manager is <br />authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, hereafter referred to as The Public <br />Body, to execute and file an application to the Virginia Department of Rail and Public <br />Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia, hereafter referred to as The Department, for a <br />grant of financial assistance in the amount of $852,182.00 to defray the costs borne by The <br />Public Body for Administrative and Fuel, Tires and Maintenance expenses and Capital <br />expenses and to accept from The Department grants in such amounts as may be awarded, and <br />to authorize the Transit Manager to furnish to The Department such documents as may be <br />required for processing the grant request. <br /> <br /> The City Council of Charlottesville certifies that the funds shall be used in accordance <br />with the requirements of Section 58.1-2425.E of the Code of Virginia, that The Public Body <br />will provide funds in the amount of $547.540.00 which will be used to match state funds in <br />the ratio as required in such Act, that the records of receipts of expenditures of funds granted <br />The Public Body may be subject to audit by The Department and by the State Auditor of <br /> <br /> <br />
