TOscano noted that the City has set aside $20,000 a year for bike lanes. <br /> <br /> irk. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Devetopmem, said that the West Main <br />Street Bridge includes bike lanes. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter stated that she feels it is time to look at the long-term needs alone West <br />Main Street, including bike lanes, parking, and bus stops, and to eXplore how bike ta~es <br />could be configured. Ms. Slaughter recommended that P!amfing staff be directed to take a <br />look at the issues. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daughert_.y expressed agreement with Ms~ Slaughter~ and suggested that using e~ra <br />wide sidewalks_ as previously mentioned by Ms. Sla_~ghter" ~ be explored_ ~br bike_ use. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter recommended that alternatives be explored in conjunction with the <br />ISTEA grant for bike lanes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano stressed that any development of such bike lanes has to include West <br />Main Street merchants and their interests. _Mr. Toscano asked that P!a_n_ning staff brin~ <br />Council up to date on what is happening now, and what will be happening in the ne~ ~qix <br />months. Mr. Toscano asked that staff put together a time line for options for Council to <br />consider. <br /> <br /> Rev.
