Edwards, Ms. <br />Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever. <br /> <br /> Ms. Artie Dimberg, Ms. Beverly Cap!an and Ms. Marti Bass <br />of the Charlottesville School System gave a presentation on <br />the Aptitude Based Gifted Education Program. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: ANNUAL APPROPRIATION (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Rev. Edwards stated that he would like to maintain <br />funding for the additional employee for the CLASS Program and <br />Ms. Daugherty seconded the motion. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter stated that she would support the <br />additional funding for the CLASS Program only if the funding <br />for SARA was reduced. <br /> <br /> The additiona! funding was maintained for the CLASS <br />Program by the following vote. Ayes: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. <br />Edwards, Mr. Vandever. Noes: Ms. Slaughter and Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, the <br />Annual Appropriation was unanimously amended as follows: reduce <br />the Community Arts Subsidy by $10,000; reduce Police overtime <br />for Fridays After Five by $9,000) eliminate Reading Partners <br />($5,000)~ and eliminate the Organizational Study ($50,000). <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BUDGET <br />FOR THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING <br />JULY 1~ 1993, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1994 AND PROVIDING FOR THE <br />ANNUAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR SUCH FISCAL YEAR," as <br />amended, which was offered at the April 5th meeting, was <br />approved by the following vote.
