Mr. Toscano <br />stated that he would support finding ways to reward employee <br />initiatives in all areas. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that he felt many City employees are <br />being asked to work harder as a result of downsizing and many <br />jobs are becoming more stressful. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter recommended that Council discuss using <br />"profits" from gas and other funds at a work session and look <br />closer at the City's debt service and issuance of bonds. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vandever asked for tonnage figures for recycling <br />collection. <br /> <br />Presid%nt <br /> <br />was <br /> <br />adjourned. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - April 4, 1994 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. Carroll Smith informed the Council that the <br />Departmen~ of Historic Resources has approved the Route 29 <br />location for the 29th Infantry Division Highway marker <br />honoring Frank Peregory and a ceremony installing the marker <br />will be held July 18th. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Hendrix <br />stated tha~ the demonstration grant on High Street would <br />preserve trees along the High Street corridor. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev.
