112 <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter stated that she was concerned with <br />long-term future revenue sources for the schools and would <br />like to see a shift to more funding from the state and <br />favored reducing the City's apprOpriation to the schOols in <br />the proposed budget. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano expressed agreement with Ms. Slaughter, and <br />stressed that raising questions about the funding should not <br />be seen as an attack or defunding of the schools. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that she felt the long-term question <br />is how much money does the City want to put into schools, and <br />noted that the state funding would probably have been at the <br />same level as now expected had it not been reduced in the <br />previous year. Ms. Waters stated that she did not favor <br />reducing the appropriation to the schools. <br /> <br /> Rev.
