72 <br /> <br /> Dr. William Symons, Superintendent of Schools, explained that with the total additional <br />enrollment figures above those projected, an additional $260,000 to $300,000 Ln_ additional <br />revenue from the state could be realized. <br /> <br /> Ms. ~r!etta Dimberg, Assistant Superimendem of Schools, shared the annual report on <br />test data. Bmnton, fo._rrner Mayor, <br />and said that Council in the fiature will consider naming a structure or other appropriate <br />facility in his honor. <br /> <br />PIJBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Gerald Barnes, Crescent Hal!, said that when Council makes a tena_n.t appointment <br />to the Housing Authority it should be a person with disabilities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Rannegan, 1023 Mi!mont Road, Earlysvi!!e, a psychotherapist, informed <br />Council about a campaign, the Charlottesville Fathering Initiative, which has a goal of <br />increasing awareness of the impact of the absence of fathers on cbJ!dren. Mr. Ran_n_egan said <br />that grants wi!! be applied for and community support sought. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mark Be!i!es - coordinator for the Americtn Revolution Thanksgivi_'_ng Festival, <br />asked that the City be involved in the weekend event. <br /> <br /> Ms. Nancy Hurre!brinck, !020 St. Clair Avenue, representing the Charlottesville- <br />.Albemarle Bicycling Associating, thanked the City for ks support of cycling by providing <br />safety classes, appointing a bike advisory committee, and for allowing them to use the <br />Council Chamber for bicycling videos. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ke~n Lynch, 609 Locust Avenue, said~ that he feels comments he made at the last <br />meeting about Starr Hill had been taken out of cOntext by the media. MA'. Lynch said that he <br />supports increasing middle income housing, but thinks k is wrong to spent $178,000 on four <br />houses without hope of return of the investment. M_r. Lynch recOm_mended that incentives be <br />developed for rental o.wners to bring their property up to standards, and to provide single <br />family rehabilkation loans. <br /> <br /> Ms. Kathy Eisenhower, Crescent Ha!l, asked about the status of the traffic light across <br />from Crescent Hall. <br /> <br /> <br />
