Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br />Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> Council toured the following areas with members of the <br />Urban Design Committee and Charlottesville Industrial <br />Development Authority: site for planned Water Street Parking <br />garage, CSX property, and the Carlton BuSiness Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. George Ray, Director of Economic Development and Mr. <br />Tom Hickman of Aliant Corp., reviewed the building plans for <br />the three proposed residential sites on the CSX property. <br /> <br />P~r~~~ ~~ ~'~The meeting was adjourned. <br /> e~dent . . ~rk <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER - January 16, 1990 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br />Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. .~.~i~ ~ ..... ~ <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Ms. Waters, the <br />minutes of the December 19th meeting were approved as <br />presented, with Rev. Edwards and Mr. Vandever abstaining and <br />Mr. Buck absent for the vote. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev, Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />minutes of the January 2nd meeting were approved as <br />presented, with Mr. Buck absent for the vote. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: PROPOSED CHARTER CHANGE - CHANGE IN HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br /> Mr. Clyde Gouldman, City Attorney, explained that the <br />public hearing on this item and the next item were legally <br />required prior to requesting a charter change from the <br />General Assembly. Mr. Gouldman explained that this change <br />would give the Council the option to expand the Housing <br />Authority to seven members and to change the composition of <br />the membership. <br /> <br /> The public hearing was opened. <br /> <br /> Ms- Charlotte Sherman o{ 408 East Market Street.~and. ~ <br />President of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, <br />supported the proposed charter change. <br /> <br /> <br />
