On mOtion by Mr. vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, Mr. <br />Bruce Williamson was unanimoUsly'reappointed to a two year <br />term on the Community Corrections ResoUrceS Board. This term <br />will expire on December 31, 1992. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, Mr. David Carter was <br />unanimously reappointed, and Ms. Mary Williams unanimously <br />appointed to two year terms on the Jefferson Area Board for <br />Aging. These terms will expire on April 1, 1993. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Steven Freidman was unanimously appointed to an unexpired <br />term and Ms. Mary Susan Payne was unanimously appointed to a <br />three year term on the Region Ten Community Services Board. <br />Mr. Freidman's term will expire on June 30, 1992 and Ms. <br />Payne's term will expire on June 30, 1994. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Vandever, <br />Mr. Neal Gropen was unanimously appointed to a one year term <br />on the Rivanna Solid Waste Advisory Committee. This term <br />will expire on November 30, 1991. <br /> <br />REQUEST: JAYCEES - WAIVING FEES FOR CIRCUS <br /> <br /> Mr. Tom Killor, representing the Charlottesville <br />Albemarle Jaycees, requested that Council waive fees for the <br />circus to be held on April 29th and 30th. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, <br />Council unanimously approved the resolution waiving fees for <br />the Jaycees' circus. - <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Jaycees intend to <br />sponsor a circus in the City of CharlottesVille from April <br />29-30, 1991~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been requested that Council waive <br />certain license tax and other requirements applicable to the <br />circus; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council is willing to support this request <br />to the extent set forth below; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the following fees and requirements are <br />waived: <br /> <br />The circus performance'fees of $150 for the first <br />performance and $100 for each subsequent performance <br />ordinarily imposed by City Code Section 14-55(5). <br /> <br />The $10 tent erection fee imposed by City Code <br />Section 5-57~ <br /> <br /> 3. $50 per annum Peddlers License fee or tax imposed by <br /> City Code Section 14-49(d). <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following matters, to <br />the extent applicable, are not waived: <br /> <br />Inspections for amusement rides associated with the <br />circus, if any, and any related fees. <br /> <br />$50 per day deposit to cover the cost of additional <br />city services, which fee may be refunded in part, <br />imposed by City Code Section 3-2. <br /> <br />The Jaycees shall furnish proper documentation to <br />the City that adequate liability insurance is in <br />place covering this event in an amount of at least <br />$1,000,000, with the City being named as an <br />additional insured. <br /> <br /> <br />
