Edwards, <br />Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Absent: Mr. Buck. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Towe, <br />Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss <br />disposition of property as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(2) <br />of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br />Council reconvened in public session. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, <br />Council unanimously approved the resolution authorizing the <br />Mayor to sign an agreement conveying the City's interest in <br />a portion of the CSX property to the Charlottesville <br />Industrial Development Authority. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the Mayor is authorized to <br />execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form <br />approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />A deed from CSX Transportation, Inc. (formerly <br />"The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company,,) to <br />The Industrial Development Authority of the City <br />of Charlottesville (the "Authority"), which deed <br />conveys approximately 16 acres of land near East <br />Street to the Authority. The City of Charlottesville <br />is being asked to join in this conveyance to release <br />and quitclaim certain interests that it holds in <br />the form of a "possibility of reverter" in six acres, <br />more or less, that constitute a part of the larger <br />tract of land being conveyed. <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the <br />minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was <br />adopted. <br /> <br />]67 <br /> <br /> <br />
