197 <br /> <br />recommended, such as the expressway, appeared more <br />appropriate for larger, more urban cities and questioned <br />whether similar roadways existed in cities comparable to <br />Charlottesville and the consultants replied that they only <br />knew of similar roads in Huntsville, Alabama and Baton <br />Rouge, Louisiana. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sue Lewis, Planning Commission member, questioned <br />whether a combination of options was a possibility. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gene Wray of the Department of Transportation, <br />stated that only one option would be recommended, but the <br />Transportation Board could decide to approve a combination <br />of options. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that she felt it was important to <br />development an understand of possible impacts on the City <br />and begin communications with Albemarle County and the <br />University of Virginia in order to present a unified <br />position to the State. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown stated that the premise on all the data being <br />collected is that Meadowcreek Parkway will be in place. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that it was her understanding that <br />the City had requested, and that it had been agreed, that <br />the impact would be studied both with and without the <br />Meadowcreek Parkway. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sours questioned whether the possible expansion of <br />the University of Virginia was taken into account in the <br />study, but Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community <br />Development, replied that only normal growth was assumed in <br />the study. <br /> <br /> .
