Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br /> Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix requested that each Council Member list <br /> issues or areas of interest for discussion during the <br /> retreat. The major issues discussed included the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Route 29 North <br /> <br /> 2. University of Virginia proposed growth <br /> <br /> 3. Downtown <br /> <br /> 4. Residential neighborhoods <br /> <br /> 5. City/County relationship issues <br /> <br /> The following other topic areas were also discussed: <br /> <br /> 1. Development of the Comprehensive Housing Policy <br /> document <br /> <br /> 2. City entranceways to include Long Street and <br /> Fontaine/Maury Avenues <br /> <br /> 3. Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br /> Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: GRANTING TAX EXEMPT STATUS FOR MACAA'S HOPE HOUSE <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the Monticello Area Community <br /> Action Agency (MACAA) has requested that Council adopt a <br /> resolution recommending that the General Assembly grant tax <br /> exempt status to MACAA's Hope House which, if approved, <br /> would exempt Hope House from real estate, personal property <br /> and business licenses. Mr. Hendrix explained that State law <br /> requires that a public hearing be held on the proposed <br /> resolution. <br /> <br />The public hearing was opened. <br /> <br /> <br />
