Absent: Mr. Cox) to an unexpired term on the Social Services Advisory Board. <br />This term will expire on June 30, 2000. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br />President0 <br /> <br />BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM - January 19, 1999 <br /> <br /> Council met in a work session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br />TRANSPORTATION WORK SESSION <br /> <br />Meadowcreek Parkway <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty said she is interested in building a road with as little ill effect as <br />possible, and is interested in exploring the two-lane option for Meadowcreek Parkway. <br /> <br /> Mr. Will Reiley, landscape architect hired by the City to explore design <br />alternatives for the Meadowcreek Parkway, said he will be presenting a very preliminary <br />status report at this time. Mr. Reiley said he has received computer files from the <br />Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and is looking at the impact of four, <br />three and two lanes on Mclntire Park. Mr. Reiley said he feels the water basins proposed <br />by VDOT can be eliminated. Mr. Reiley said VDOT has designed a road for a 45-50 <br />m.p.h, speed, and he feels the cut and fill can be substantially reduced by designing the <br />road for 40 m.p.h, speed. Mr. Reiley said he believes the impact on the Park can further <br /> <br /> <br />
