Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. <br />Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None. <br /> <br />a. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$39,039 - Domestic Violence Coordinator Grant <br />(2na reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $39,039.00, to be received as a grant from the Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-230-041153 in the Grants <br />Fund for the purpose of funding the Domestic Violence Community Service Coordinator <br />position which serves both the City and County Commonwealth's Attorney Offices. As <br />the required match for the grant, the City Commonwealth's Attorney Office will <br />contribute $13,663.00 in in-kind attorney services. This appropriation is conditioned <br />upon receipt of $39,039.00 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services <br />under Grant # 99-C9413VA98. <br /> <br />b. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$1,122 - Domestic Violence program Training <br />Grant (2na reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the sum of $1,122.00, received as a grant from the Department of Criminal <br />Justice Services to fund travel expenses and supplies for the Domestic Violence <br />Coordinator in the Commonwealth's Attorney Office, is hereby appropriated to <br />expenditure account 11-230-041153 in the Grants Fund. Further, the sum of <br />$374.00 is hereby appropriated from account code 05-230-032040 to expenditure <br />account 11-230-041153, for a total appropriation of $1,496.00. This appropriation <br />is conditioned upon receipt of $1,122.00 from the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />under Grant Number 99-A3135VA98. <br /> <br />c. APPROPRIATION: $145,000 - Washington Park Grants (2na reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the sum of $145,000.00 is hereby appropriated to City expenditure account <br />26-181-073125 for the renovation of Washington Park, including reconstruction <br />of the Washington Park pool. Said funds have been received as an unrestricted <br />grant from the Dave Matthews Band ($45,000) and a matching grant from the <br />Perry Foundation ($100,000). The City's match for the Perry Foundation grant <br />will be transferred from the Capital Projects Fund ($136,000) to the Washington <br />Park/Pool Reconstruction Fund during the Fiscal Year 1999-2000 budget process, <br />and will be used to fund site lighting, a parking lot, and architectural fees. <br /> <br />d. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$10,000 - Traffic Safety Grant (pedestrian safety) <br />(2~a reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $10,000.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Motor <br />Vehicles, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-270-041165 for the purpose <br />of funding overtime costs to enforce the laws protecting pedestrians and bicyclists on the <br />roadways, as well as enforcing habitual offender and child safety seat laws. This <br />appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $10,000.00 from the Virginia Department of <br />Motor Vehicles. <br /> <br /> <br />
