Noes: None.) to meet in <br />closed session for the purpose of discussion of prospective candidates for appointment to <br />City Boards and Commissions, and for the annual performance evaluation of the City <br />Manager, as authorized by Section 2.2-371 i(A)(1) of the Virginia Code; for the purpose <br />of discussion of the acquisition of real property located near Riverside Avenue for a <br />public purpose, and for discussion of the disposition of a parcel of publicly held property <br />on Cherry Avenue, where discussion in open session would adversely affect the <br />negotiating strategy of the City, all as authorized by Section 2.2-341 l(A)(3)of the <br />Virginia Code; and for discussion concerning the expansion of an existing business in the <br />City where no previous announcement has been made of the business' interest in <br />expansion, as authorized by Section 2.2-3771(A)(5) of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - December 3, 2001 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: <br />Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br />AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS: Boxer Learning, Inc. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati presented the City's Business Recognition Award to Mr. Allen <br />Cunningham of Boxer Learning, Inc. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati congratulated the Charlottesville High School's girls basketball team <br />for winning the State AA championship. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Emery, 1604 Market Street, asked that Council look into the danger <br />posed by domestic cats, and said they carry diseases and do environmental damage. Mr. <br />Emery said Cotmcil should think about requiring that they be kept inside or on a leash. <br /> <br /> <br />
