<br />Minutes, May 13, 2019 Page 1 <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />City of Charlottesville Electoral Board <br />Meeting of May 13, 2019 <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 8:35 am on Monday, May 13, 2019 in <br />the office of the Charlottesville General Registrar. Those present were Electoral Board <br />members Anne Hemenway (Chair), Jon Bright (Vice Chair) and Jim Nix (Secretary), <br />General Registrar Rosanna Bencoach, Election Manager Melissa Morton, Project <br />Assistant Joyce McKenney and Acting Deputy Registrar Jamie Virostko. <br /> <br />On a motion by the Chair, seconded by the Vice Chair, the agenda was approved <br />unanimously without change. <br /> <br />Public Comment <br /> <br />No members of the public were present for this meeting. <br /> <br />Discussion Items <br /> <br />In accordance with the directives in paragraph §2.2-3712(B) of the Code of Virginia the <br />Chair announced that a closed meeting for the purpose of interviewing candidates for <br />the position of General Registrar for the City of Charlottesville shall be held within fifteen <br />days of this date. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />The Registrar informed the Board that the new City Manager will be making the rounds <br />of the various City departments in the near future and she suggested that he be invited <br />to tour the nine City voting precincts on June 11 to familiarize him with our election <br />procedures and polling places and to meet our election officers. The Board members <br />agreed, and the Registrar was asked to extend to him a formal invitation and to prepare <br />a letter for signature by a Board member granting him access to polling places as a <br />neutral observer on June 11. <br /> <br />The next meeting of the Board will take place in the office of the Charlottesville General <br />Registrar at 5:45 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 am. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
