Rinehart <br />Mr. Mitchell Van Yahres <br /> <br />TAKE NOTICE <br /> <br /> A special meeting of the Council will be held <br />Tonight the 7th inst. at 7:30 P.M. O'clock. <br />1. Public Hearing: City and School Budgets. <br />2. Annual Tax Levy Ordinance. <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF <br /> <br />J. S, Rush, Jr. ('signed) <br /> Clerk <br /> <br />Charles L. Barbour (signed) <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> The Council met in special session on this date with <br /> <br /> the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, <br /> Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. ~nehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Absent: <br /> None. <br /> <br /> A public hearing was held on this date on the <br /> <br /> proposed City and School Budgets for fiscal year 1976-77. <br /> <br /> The City Manager made a brief presentation of the <br /> <br />City Budget. The Mayor then afforded anyone present an <br />opportunity to speak either for or against the proposed <br />budgets. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Mary Williams and Mr. Richard Jones addressed <br /> <br />the Council on behalf of OAR and requested an appropriation <br />of $8,816 for OAR. Mr. Jones stated that the County had <br />been requested to make an appropriation of $5,622. <br /> <br /> Mr. Rick Noble, President of Madison House, addressed <br /> <br />the Council and requested that Madison House be included <br /> <br />in the budget for an amount of $10,000. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Bettie Scott, President of the League of Women <br /> <br />Voters, addressed the Council and stated that the League <br />was opposed to the Utility Subsidy. They also questioned <br />transferring funds from the General Fund' to the Capital <br />Fund, recommended eliminating consultants fees and <br />doubling Bicentennial Contractural Services. She stated <br />that the League was in favor of increased funds for opera6ion <br />of pools, transportation and housing. <br /> <br /> A number of people addressed the Council in support <br /> <br />of the School Budget and urged the adoption of the <br /> <br />School Budget as presented. Mr. Gilliam requested that the <br />School Administration furnish the Council a list of salaries <br />for assistant superintendents and supervisory personnel <br /> <br /> <br />
