ROBERTS ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND RENEWED HIS REQUESTS TO REPEAL THE SALES <br />AND USE TAX~ AND TO CALL A REFERENDUM ON THE TAX. MR. ROBERTS ALSO PRESENTED COPIES OF A <br />NEW PETITION TO THE CLERK AND EACH MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL. MR. MOUNT MADE A STATEMENT TO <br /> <br />MR. ROBERTS DETAILING THE PREVIOUS DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN MR. ROBERTS AND THE COUNCIL. HE <br /> <br />FURTHER STATED THAT HE WOULD CALL FOR ACTION ON THE REQUESTS WHICH MR. ROBERTS HAD <br /> <br />PREVIOUSLY MADE. MR. HAGGERTY REAFFIRMED THE POSITION OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE ON THE <br />STUDY RECOMMENDING THE SALES TAX. A MOTION BY MR. HAGGERTY~ SECONDED BY MR. SCRIBNER, <br />THAT THE SALES TAX NOT BE REPEALED~ AND THAT A REFERENDUM NOT BE CALLED WAS UNANIMOUSLY <br />ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> REQ~STS FOR REZONING ON 7~ STREET ~N,D 108 LEW~S STREET WERE;REFeRRED TO THE' <br />~EANNI.NG. PONTON) THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS <br /> <br />AND STONE-ROBINSON SCHOOL WERE DECLARED NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS UNDER SECTION 91(E) OF <br />THE LICENSE TAX'ORDINANCE. <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS WERE PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THAT THE <br />REQUEST FOR REZONING AT 2208 FONTAINE AVENUE BE DENIED AND THE REQUEST FOR REZONING BETWEEN <br />FAIRWAY AVENUE AND ARBOR CIRCLE ALSO BE DENIED. ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER, SECONDED BY <br />MR. HAGGERTY~ A PUBLIC HEARING WAS SET FOR OCTOBER 4~ 1965 AT 7:30 P. M. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THAT HANOVER <br />STREET~ BETWEEN GROVE STREET AND KING STREET~ BE CLOSED. ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER~ <br /> <br /> <br />
