X54 <br />OF THE MATTER. <br />THE CITY MANAGER STATED THAT IN HIS OPINION THE GOVERNING BODIES SHOULD <br />CITY MANAGERS RECOMMF~NDATION RE: <br />CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDING <br />CONSTRUCT THE BUILDING AT THIS TIME OTHERWISE (1) THE FEDERAL AVIATION AGENCY <br />MONEY WOULD BE LOST AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE ON ANY FUTURE BUILDING, <br />(2) THAT THE ARCHITECTS FEES MUST BE PAID FOR THESE PLANS ~3) TNAT THE LOW <br />BID RECEIVED WAS 14,000.00 LESS THAN THE NEXT BID, AND FURTHER (4) THAT IT <br />APPEARED THAT BUILDING COSTS WOULD CONTINUE TO INCREASE SO THAT WE COULD NOT <br />EXPECT TO CONSTRUCT A PROPER BUILDING IN THE FUTURE SO AS TO MEET FAA <br />SPECIFICATIONS AND TO HOUSE THE FAA COMMUNICATIONS AND WEATHER DEPARTMENT WITH <br />THE MONEY WHICH WOULD BE CONTRIBUTED BY THE CITY AND COUNTY TO THIS PROJECT. <br />MR. SCRIBNER STATED THAT HE AGREED WITH THE STATEMENTS MADE BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL AGREES TO ADDITIONAL <br />FUNDS FOR BUILDING <br />COUNTY POSTPONED ACTION <br />UNTIL AUGUST 11, 1959 <br />MANAGER, AND MOVED THAT THE COUNCIL AGREE TO PUT UP ITS ADDITIONAL 17,000.00, <br />ON CONDITION, OF COURSE, THAT THE COUNTY WOULD DO LIKEWISE. THIS MOTION WAS <br />SECONDED BY MR. THE BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISORS OF <br />ALBEMARLE COUNTY WERE ALSO PRESENT. <br />THE CITY MANAGER PRESENTED A GRANT AGREEMENT FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION <br />MATTER RE: GRANT AGREEMENT <br />FEDERAL AVIATION AGENCY - <br />NEW TERMINAL BLDG. <br />c <br />AGENCY FOR A NEW TERMINAL BUILDING AT THE AIRPORT, PROJECT #9-44-016-6003. <br />HE EXPLAINED FULLY THE CONTENTS OF THE AGREEMENT AND ADVISED THAT IT WOULD <br />BE NECESSARY FOR BOTH THE CITY AND COUNTY TO EXECUTE THIS DOCUMENT IN ORDER <br />TO SECURE THE GRANT NAMED THEREIN. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. WEINBERG, SECONDED BY MR. SCRIBNER, IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY <br />RESOLVED: <br />(1) THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE ENTER INTO A <br />GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION AGENCY FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING <br />FEDERAL AID IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TERMINAL BUILDING AT THE CHARLOTTESVILLE- <br />
