Mr. Vandever said that $4)000 had been shifted from <br /> the Afterschool Program and combined with the $3,700 from Legal Aid, <br /> which amounted to $?,700 for the Home Care Project. He stressed t~at the <br /> Social DevelOpment COmmission died not want to eliminate the Afters~chool <br /> Program and hoped that-'funds previously allocated to child care by Council <br /> could be used if'needed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cono~er noted'concern that $? ?00 was~-~sufficient for the Home <br /> Care Project~and Mr. Vandever said that the Red Cross originally requested <br /> $10,800, but lhat he felt the money could be made up through volunteer help <br /> and alternate money sources. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cono~rer questioned why the money had been taken out of the After- <br /> when the Social Development Commission had given it such a <br /> <br /> Mr. Vandev~r responded that ~the Commission had considered <br /> <br /> ~f every program, but because many had already been cut they <br /> to cut them further.
