238 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br />RELATING TO <br />MAILING OF <br />MEALS TAX <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br />AUTHORIZING BONDS <br />FOR GAS SYSTEM <br /> (2nd reading) <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />OTiHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: <br />BOARDS AND <br />COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> The ordinance amending the code relating to the mailing of <br />notices of delinquent meals tax assessment entitled"-"AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 10-96 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, 1976, RELATING TO THE MAILING OF NOTICES <br />OF DELINQUENT MEALS TAX ASSESSMENTS" which was offered at the <br />meeting of June 6, 1983, was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Buck, Mr. Conoer, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> The ordinance authorizing bonds for the gas system entitled <br /> "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED <br /> THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000) PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGA- <br /> TION GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> VIRGINIA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO PAY THE COST OF <br /> ACQUIRING, CONSTRUCTING, RECONSTRUCTt'NG, IMPROVING, EXTENDING, <br /> ENLARGING AND EQUIPPING THE GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF AND FOR SUCH <br /> CITY; .FIXING THE FORM, DENOMINATION AND CERTAIN OTHER FEATURES OF <br /> SUCH BONDS; PROVIDING FOR THE.SALE OF A LIKE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF <br /> GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF THE <br /> ISSUANCE AND SALE OF SUCH BONDS" was adopted by the following vote. <br /> Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover., Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix reported that there had been no action on the <br /> Treasurer's Report. Mrs. Gleason moved to refer the Treasurer's <br /> Report to the Finance committee. Dr. Hall seconded the motion and <br /> it was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix reported that the microphones in Council Chambers <br /> <br /> needed to be replaced and asked for Council's recommendations. <br /> Council noted approval of the sample microphone in a smaller model, <br /> if possible. <br /> Mr. Hendrix notified Council that film crews would be'~in <br /> Charlottesville on Wednesday filming a move on the presidency of <br /> John KennedY. <br /> <br /> Mr'.
