RESOLUTION: <br />GRANTING SPECIAL <br />PERMIT FOR <br />INCREASED DENSITY <br />ON CEDARS COURT <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br />GRANTING PERMIT <br />TO CONDUCT <br />SHOOTING MATCHES <br /> <br />ORDINANCE,: <br />CHANGE IN <br />DEFINITION <br />RELATING TO <br />NOISE CONTROL <br /> (2nd reading) <br /> <br />to accept from VDH&T grants in such amount as may be awarded; <br />to execute the necessary grant agreements; and to authorize the <br />Transit Manager to furnish to VDH&T such documents and other <br />information as may be required for processing the grant request. <br /> In connection with such grant application the Council <br />c-ertifies that the funds will be used in accordance with the <br />requirements of the 1982 Appropriations Act, as amended, and only <br />for the purposes specified therein; that the City.will provide <br />matching funds in the 95% State and 5% City ratio as required in <br />the Act; that the record of receipts and expenditures of funds <br />granted the City as authorized in the Act may be subject to audit <br />by VDH&T and by the State Auditor of Public Accounts. <br />(3) Be It Resolved by the Council of the City of CharlOttesville, <br />Virginia, that the City Manager is authorized, for and on. behalf <br />of the City, to execute and file an application to the Virginia <br />Department of Highways and Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia <br />(VDH&T), for a grant of transportation special revenues under <br /> Chapter 684, Item 644 of the 19.82 Acts of the General Assembly as <br /> amended ("The 1982 Appropriations Act"); in the amount of $36,100.00 <br /> for fiscal year commencing July 1, 1983, to defray the public <br /> transportation Administrative-expenses o'f' the City of Charlottesville; <br /> to accept from VDH&T grants in such amount as may be awarded; to <br /> execute the necessary gran't agreements; .and to authorize the Transit <br /> Manager to furnish to VDH&T such documents and other information as <br /> may be required for processing the grant request. <br /> In connection with such grant application the Council certifies <br /> that the funds, will be used in accordance with the requirements of <br /> the 1982 Appropriations Act, as amended, and only for the purposes <br /> specified therein; that the City will provide matching funds in the <br /> 50% state and S0% City ratio as required in the Act; that the record <br /> of receipts and expenditures of funds granted the City as authorized <br /> in the Act may be subject to audit by VDH~T and by the State Auditor <br /> o£ Public Accounts. <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, stated <br /> that the Planning Commission recommended approval of the special <br /> permit fOr increased density on Cedars Court because it would provide <br /> needed housing and would not have a-significant negative impact on <br /> <br />the neighborhood. <br /> Dr. Gunter moved the Resolution Granting a Special Permit for <br />Increased Density Development of Property Located on Cedars Court, <br />Dr. Hall seconded, and the resolution was unanimously approved by <br /> <br />Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council ~of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that there is hereby granted pursuant to Section 31-33 <br />of the City Code a special permit for the use of property located <br />at the northwest end of Cedars Court, designated as Parcel 3 on <br />City Real Property Tax Map 40B, for the construction of apartment <br />units at a density of 34.7 units per acre, or a maximum of 32 one <br />bedroom and 18 efficiency units on such property, which contains <br />62,280 square feet. This permit shall be subject to the .conditions <br />and regulations set forth in the aforesaid Section 31-33, as well <br />as to all general conditions and regulations imposed upon special <br />permits by Chapter 31 of the City Code, including the obtaining of <br />an approved site plan before initiating construction on the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrix stated that the Veterans of Foreign Wars annually <br /> <br />requested Council's approval of shooting matches. <br /> Mrs. Gleason moved the Resolution Granting to Post No. 1827 of <br />the Veterans of Foreign Wars a Permit to Conduct Shooting Matches, <br />Dr. Gunter seconded the motion and the resolution was unanimously <br /> <br />approved by Council. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED t,hat the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />grants permission to Post. No. 1827 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars <br />to conduct shooting matches on their property located on River Road <br />within the city limits on Friday evenings beginning at the time of <br />adoption of the resolution through December 31, 1983; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be <br />directed to send a copy.of this resolution to Post 1827 of the <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled ,AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS <br /> 16.1-2 AND 16.1-5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br /> <br />RELATING TO DEFINITIONS AND METHODS OF MEASURING SOUND LEVELS <br />APPLICABLE UNDER THE CITY NOISE CONTROL ORDINANCE" was approved by <br /> <br /> <br />
