MINUTES PUBLIC APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS allow for financing of capital improvement projects at the Airport. It. was proposed that the Authority be made up of the City Manager, County Executive, and one joint appointee from the Airport Commission. Mr. Gerald Fisher, Chairman of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, and Mr. Timothy Lindstrom, member of the Albemarle CoUnty Board of Supervisors, indicated their reluctance to turn over final~authority for the Airport. Action was deferred until concerns expressed coUld be researched further. The meeting was adjourned. President COUNCIL CHAMBERS - December 19, 1983 coUncil met in regular session this date with the following members present: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall. Absent: Dr. Gunter. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council unanimously voted~to go into Executive Session to discuss matters of personnel as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of December 5 were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Conover, the minutes of December .10 were unanimouSly approved as presented. There were no matters by the public. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, Richard G. Miller was unanimously reappointed to serve a three year term to expire November 30, 1986, on the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Commission. On motion by Mr. Conover, the following persons were unanimously appointed to. the Jefferson Area United Transport-ation (JAUNT) Board: Gary O'Connell (reappointed to a one year term to expire October 1, 1984), Helen Poore (reappointed to a two year term to expire October 1, 198_5), Jane Saunier (reappointed to a two year term to expire October 1, 1985), Dolores Dabney (appointed to a three year term to expire October 1, 1986), and Sumner Irish (appointed to a three year term to expire October 1, 1986). On motion by Dr. Hall, Virginia McKee was unanimously reappointed to serve a three and one-half year term to expire June 30, 1987, and Thomas Bennett was appointed to serve a two and one-half year term to expire June 30, 1986 on the Region 10 Community Services Boar.d. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, Virginia Carr Leake was appointed to serve a one year term to expire December 31, 1984 on the Retired Senior Volunteer Program BOard. On motion by Mr. Conover, Rebecca Treakle was unanimously appointed to serve a four year term to expire on the Social Services Advisory Board. On motion by Dr. Hall, Ruth Wadlington was reappointed and Thomas DeMaio was appointed to serve a three year term to expire on September S0, 1986 on the Youth Commission.
