STAFF REPORT: AMBULANCE SERVICE PERMITS APPROPRIATION: $1o,ooo COMMUNITY HEATING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BONDS FOR U. 'VA. HEALTH SERVICES FOUNDATION Mr. Roger Wiley stated that he had spoken with attorneys for Eastern Virginia Ambulance Service, Yellow Ambulance Services, aid Anderson Brothers. Mr. 'Wiley recommended.that, the City honor the'exclusive franchise presently awarded t.o Yellow Ambulance S ' erv~ce until its expiration Mr. Wiley recommended. .. . that a study be conducted to determine wheth, r an exclusive franchise should be awarded in the. future. Mr. Thomas Michie, representing Yellow Ambulance S~rvice, asked that Council studY"the matter carefully, taking into account l:he fact that there may not be enough business in Charlottesville to support more than one service.
