The proceeds of the Note, together with any earnings <br />derived fromm'the investment of such proceeds, shall be applied on <br />April 17, 1984 to the payment of the principal of and interest on <br />the City's $3,000,000 principal amount of General Improvement Bond <br />Anticipation Notes, dated April 21, 1982, which mature and become <br />due and payable on such date. <br /> <br /> 8. The City Attorney of the City is directed to file a copy <br />of this r.esolution, certified by the Clerk of Council of the City to <br />be a true and correct copy hereof, with the C'lerk'of the Circuit Court <br />of the City. <br /> <br /> 9. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix requested Council's approval to proceed with the <br />steps necessary for the purchase of the Bicentennial Center. Mr. <br />Hendrix stated that the purchase would be contingent on: 1) borrowing <br />the money locally, using the lease as collateral, 2) the purchase <br />price being agreeable, and 3) an agreement being reached.with the <br />Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation and Albemarle County. Mr. <br />Hendrix explained that he would ask Delegate Mitchell Van Yahres to <br />introduce the necessary bill and would bring the matter back to <br />Council for final approval before the purchase took place. <br /> Mrs. Gleason moved, Dr. Hall seconded, and Council unanimously <br /> <br />approved the request to proceed with the steps necessary for the <br /> <br />purchase of the Bicentennial Center. <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the County had requested that a county <br />volunteer firefighter be allowed to serve on the Management Board for <br /> <br /> <br />
