ORDINANCE: ANNUAL APPRO- PRIATION ( 2nd reading) WHEREAS, with the 'leadership of the four seniors, Rick Carlisle, Kenton Edelin, Ricky Stokes, and Othell Wilson, and Coach Terry Holland, the Cavaliers. exceeded all expectations by winning the NCAA Eastern Regional Championship and advancing to the Final Four in Seattle, and WHEREAS, the Cavaliers have~-~continually provided an example of sportsmanship and dedication which has-bound the community together. THEREFORE, we, the. City CoUncil of the City of. Charlottesville, congratulate the Cavaliers on their successful season, thank them for providing inspiration and excitement to the entire community, wish them ·continued success in the years to come, and do hereby proclaim Saturday, April ?, 1984 as CAVALIER BASKETBALL DAY in Charlotte. sville, Virginia. Dr. Hall moved the resolution amending the cooperation agreement between the City gnd' the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The motion was seconded by Dr. Gunter and the resolution was approved by Council, withMr.~Conover absent.during the vote. wHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville ("City") and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority ("Authority") entered into a Cooperation Agreement dated October 27., 1983 (".Cooperation Agreement") which sets forth the responsibilities of the City and the Authority for the development and financing of the hotel, conference center, corporate training facility and parking deck ("Project") to be constructed within the Vinegar Hill Redevelopment Project; and WHEREAS, the City and the Authority now desire to amend the Cooperation- Agreement to reflect certain changes ~n circumstances concerning the development and financing of the Project which have occurred since the execution thereof or which may arise hereafter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, 1. That the Mayor for and on behalf of the City 'of Charlottesville, be. and is hereby authorized and directed to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Cooperation Agreement, which Amendment is dated April 6, 1984 and which Amendment shall be substantially in ' and attached to this Resolution.
