MINUTES PUBLIC PUBLIC HEARING: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN APPOINTMENTS.: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Mr. Lindstrom stated that he did not see support for consolidation among. his constituents but was in favor of continued City-County meetings on an informal basis and in dealing with issues as they come up. Mrs. Gleason stated that she was on the consolidation committee and that w.hat began with enthusiasm appeared to become a threat to cooperation. Dr. Gunter recommended holding joint City-CoUnty meetings on a regular basis to improve communication. Mr. Buck stated that while consolidating agencies did not appear profitable, he felt that certain governmental consolidation would be beneficial to the community in the long run. Foil. owing a unanimous vote by the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors to discontinUe the Consolidation Committee, Mrs. Gleason moved to discontinue the Consolidation Committee, Dr. Gunter seconded the motion and it was approved by the following vote. Absent: Mr. Buck. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Hall, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344 (a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the minutes of August 20th were approved as corrected. On motion by Dr. Hal.l, seconded by Dr~ Gunter, t-he minutes of August 21st were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Dr~ Gunter, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of August 23rd were unanimously approved as presented. There were no matters by the public. The public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan was carried over from the previous meeting due to an advertising error. As there were no speakers, the public hearing was closed. On motion by Mr. Barnes, Mr. Ronald Keeney was unanimously appointed to a five year term on the Building Code Board of Appeals. This term shall ex~ire on August 31, 1989. 'On motion by Dr. Gunter, Mrs. Rosemary Hayes was Unanimously reappointed to a two Year term on the Jefferson Area Board for Aging Board of Directors. This term shall expire on July 19, 1986.
