Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs.. Gleason, <br />Dr..Gunter, Dr. Hall. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, <br />Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 27-S <br /> <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE (1976), AS AMENDED, IN <br />ORDER TO DISCONTINUE THE CITY'S REGULATION OF NON-EMERGENCY AMBULANCE <br />SERVICE" which was offered at the meeting of January ?th, was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that Council had not received the viewers' reports <br /> so no action would be taken but persons ~who wished to comment would <br /> be allowed to do so. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Pratt, petitioner for the alley closing, requested that <br /> the alley be closed~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Norman Frazier of 822 Valley View Circle Opposed the closing. <br /> Mr. A. H. Payne of 820 Valley View Circle, stated that he would <br /> prefer to see the alley remain open and read a letter from his <br /> neithbor, Mr. Townsend, who also-supported leaving the alley ooen. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pratt stated that the closing would.not affect the property <br /> owners who had opposed the Closing. <br /> <br /> Action was deferred on the alley closing until Viewers' reports <br /> are received. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the ordinance would cease the City's <br /> contribution toward health care benefits at the end of the month of <br /> retirement for persons employed after January 1, 1985. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the ordinance <br /> entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE <br /> OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE (1976), AS AMENDED, TO ADD A NEW <br /> ARTICLE, NUMBERED IV, RELATING TO EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE BENEFITS" was <br /> <br /> offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br /> Following discussion of the membership of the Urban Design Task <br /> Force, it was decided that the Planning Commission would make the <br /> appointments. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gleason recommended that'the Economic Development Coordinator <br /> be included on the Task Force. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, a resolution <br /> approving the purpose, membership and staffing of the Urban Design <br /> <br /> <br />
